Heritage Adventurer is a small, ice-strengthened expedition cruise ship carrying the highest passenger-ship ice class (1A Super), purpose-built in 1991 at Finland's Rauma yard for remote polar exploration. Over three decades she has sailed under four names, most notably 25 celebrated years as Hapag-Lloyd's Hanseatic with numerous Antarctic voyages and multiple Northwest and Northeast Passage transits. At roughly 8,378 GT and 124.8 m she was reduced from 184 to 140 guests during her 2021-2022 refit. She now runs signature itineraries to Antarctica and the Ross Sea, New Zealand's Subantarctic Islands, the Russian Far East, the Kimberley and the South Pacific.
