Azamara Pursuit is a small, boutique-style cruise ship and the third R-class vessel in Azamara's fleet, joining near-identical sisters Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest. Completed in 2001 as the final ship in Renaissance Cruises' eight-strong 'R' series, she led an unusually varied life before joining Azamara, sailing under four previous names and five operators — including a stint as P&O's Adonia and a brief role as the pioneering vessel of Carnival's short-lived 'Fathom' brand, which in 2016 made the first US-to-Cuba cruise sailing in over 50 years. Azamara acquired the ship in 2017 and gave her a comprehensive refit at Belfast's Harland & Wolff before her August 2018 debut. At roughly 30,300 gross tons and carrying about 700 guests, she offers an intimate, destination-focused experience with a high crew-to-guest ratio.
