MPI requires cruise vessels to arrive with clean hull and niche areas — inspected and if needed cleaned within 30 days of arrival — or operate under an approved Craft Risk Management Plan. MPI is urging lines to submit documentation early and is trialling underwater scanning technology to speed inspections.
