New Zealand-based Heritage Expeditions has put the maiden 2027-28 season of its new expedition ship Heritage Discoverer on sale, adding the vessel - formerly Exploris One - to its fleet from May 2027 alongside Heritage Adventurer and the yacht Heritage Explorer. The family-owned operator's directors called the expansion a "pivotal moment" in its 40-plus-year history, with itineraries spanning the Arctic, Antarctica, the sub-Antarctic islands and the coasts of Europe and the British Isles. Early-booking savings of 20% apply across the season for bookings made by 31 August.
New Zealand-based, family-owned Heritage Expeditions has released the maiden 2027-28 season of its new expedition ship Heritage Discoverer, Seatrade Cruise News reported on 28 July 2026.
The vessel, which previously operated as Exploris One and earlier as Silversea's Silver Explorer, will join the operator's fleet next May, sailing alongside Heritage Adventurer and the expedition yacht Heritage Explorer. Owners and directors Aaron and Nathan Russ described the addition as a "pivotal moment" in the company's 40-plus-year history.
The new programme takes in remote wilderness and wildlife destinations including Svalbard, Iceland, Greenland, South Georgia, the Falklands and the Faroes, as well as the Hebrides, Orkney, Shetland and the Channel Islands, plus coastal sailings around Spain, Portugal, France and the British Isles. Some Arctic and Antarctic departures are being chartered to Polar Latitudes Expeditions. The season is on sale now, with 20% off all berths and a further 10% discount for returning guests on bookings made by 31 August.
